"I keep my thoughts and feelings buried inside, because I don't want to bother my friends and family"
"I am fearful if I talk the pain will be too much, I'd rather keep it to myself"
When working with clients, I frequently hear and sense the 'fear' and 'worry' people have about having 'therapy' and talking about their feelings, especially with a complete stranger - as I have learned having had therapy at various points in my life. But this can actually be a good thing, where you have a person to talk to who just focusses on you and how you are at this very moment in time.
I am primarily a person centred therapist, where I will help you to explore your issues, feelings, thoughts and beliefs and support you to develop greater self-awareness and personal independence.
I can also use an integrative approach based on your current needs. This means using different types of therapy and adapting techniques suit you.
For example, It may be that anxiety is a current issue, so we can talk about how it is currently affecting you, but it may also be helpful to talk about and understand what anxiety is and how it can present.
I can offer sessions within a confidential, safe, non-judgmental space, where you can just be you.
Sessions are currently only available online via video link or telephone.
Free 15 minute telephone appointment prior to first session, to find out what you would like to focus on during therapy.
Sessions cost £40 each. Usually we would have 6 sessions with a review and discussion if more sessions would be useful.
